Day 10 - #MaretMenulis

Yesterday was the ninth day of March, which was also the exact day of when the sun, the moon and the Earth were aligned. A solar eclipse. Let's talk about how I spent through the day.

The phenomenon was mostly only visible throughout the Indonesia's archipelago. According to the news, a lot of international scientists concerned with the astronomical matters came to specific regions in Indonesia to witness and study the full eclipse. Not in every region throughout the country the eclipse could be seen. Some regions offered a total eclipse. Some others offered a partial eclipse. Mine offered the latter.
That morning I woke up earlier than usual to wake up the kids. It was 5.30 in the morning. Catching up with the time we quickly prepared all the tools and equipment necessary for making special eye wears so we could watch the eclipse. We already knew what to prepare, to use and to do at that time so we were quite less panicking.

We used old Rontgen and cut out the dark edges to make smaller pieces. Later piece by piece was glued to our prepared paper-made eye wears. We certainly did not invest in commercial specialized eye wears so we made them.

The peak of the eclipse happened at 7:23. We saw it and it was amazing. It almost felt like seeing a croissant but instead of the moon it was the sun. We were there standing by outside until it passed the peak moment. We continued watching the eclipse from other regions on television.

Later in the afternoon I had Korean lunch. The restaurant is called Dae Jang Geum. I have always adored going there for the food, the place and the tatami. The privacy was kept well in their tatami. Not that I did something naughty or anything. It did not feel like in a public place so much. Very intimate.
In the evening I fell asleep to The Danish Girl. A bit surprised by the story but I am kept curious to seeing the rest of it.
