I was not on my own. We went to the festival on Malioboro Street, along the alley of Ketandan to be exact. Every year during Cap Go Meh the alley always becomes the city's own China Town. From the food to the songs sung and played are Chinese themed. The alley of Ketandan is long enough to gather various vendors, mostly food ones. People like us who can't consume anything of pork need to be careful with choosing the food.
We left for the alley at 7 in the evening. It was two days ago. Our journey to the alley was fine except for the traffic. But that was normal as Malioboro Street is rarely quite in the night. What was a bit annoying was that it suddenly rained as we parked our vehicle. We got there safe and at the right timing. We didn't get wet at all.
Luckily enough the alley where the festival is held is always covered during the festival. The rain was not a big problem. The crowd, though, could not walk along the edge of the alley because the cover was the same size as the alley. The rain water escaped to the edge of the alley. That means that the crowd kind of pushed themselves even more into the center of the alley to avoid getting wet.
By the way, beside the food vendors and other vendors along the alley, there were also two performance stages. One smaller stage was for a karaoke -Chinese songs only. One bigger stage was for dance performance.
