Story Book Planning

Many, many years ago at the early times of my first college I wrote a story book. The story was about a group of young teenagers scavenging their neighbourhood and slightly outside of it for a mystery to solve. The story also involved a ghost from a deceased (turns out to be killed) little kid from the same neighbourhood. A series of adventure and in-group conflicts are what made the story even more interesting. At least for me, the author. Sad to say that the book has been missing for the same many years. I have stopped looking for it now. I had the let-go moment a couple of years ago.

Since then I have been wanting to write another story. Of course, a more complicated one since I have grown up along with my maturity. It will be about a young lady named Erika Tram. It will also be about solving a mystery with a clear ending. I will want the story to be long but not boring for the readers to read and also for me to write. The setting will be unknown. Since I am a free thinker I can create my own world as the setting where the story will take place. There will be killings, though not specifically relating to scattered blood on the floor or anything like so. There will be less of love drama because I am not fond of such a story when I read one. I am okay with watching a movie about love drama, just not so often.

I can say the story will be very selfish of me. I will probably not care about the future-current trend so if I ever introduce the finished story to a group of pop readers, they will probably just throw the book aside for other more interesting books. But that's not the goal I am aiming for. I don't think I will want to write a story that pop readers only want to read by following the main stream.

I look forward to starting to write the story. I am just currently in the phase of conceptualizing or frame-working so I will not lose my own story track in the midst.

I have imagined the illustration for Erika Tram character. The book cover will be a combination of partial facial organs from different persons that I know of personally, that I adore as in a famous person, and from my own face. But for inside the book, the illustrations will be less real and more simple-cartoony. I imagine I will ask a collaboration with well-known Nurfadli Mursyid. I hope it won't be too expensive to hire him. LOL.

I will do an update on the story progress in my blog. The story will take a long time to finish because of my teaching schedule and a bit of laziness. Hehe. I will make it happen, though!
